Sam Cornford
Sam was incredibly loved by many and is greatly missed.
Sampson Franklin Cornford was born January 16th, 2007 in Davis Junction, IL as “Buck.” He was adopted by Amber Cornford in May 2008. Sam passed in his mom’s arms, surrounded by family, on April 18th, 2022. Sam is survived by his mother (Amber Cornford), father (Steven McPeak), grandparents (Dave and Vicki Cornford, Marilyn and Gary Rosing, John and Julie McPeak) aunts and uncles (Jessica and Doug Bartmann, Ashley and Zach Kentner, Andrew Townsend, Cooper Cornford, and AJ McPeak) cousins (Jackson, Dalton, Ella, Tucker, Lily, and Gus Bartmann, Bentley and Piper Kentner, Winnie Townsend). Sam lived in Roscoe, Chicago, South Beloit, and Cherry Valley. Sam attended Loyola University for four years, completing nursing school with Amber. Sam has traveled the country, visiting 17 states, as well as Washington D.C. and Canada. Sam went with his family to the Smithsonian Museum, multiple capitol buildings, NASA, met a Nobel Peace Prize winner, served alongside Amber on a jury, but Sam was most proud of serving Amber as a service dog for over 13 years. He served Amber in relieving pain and had an innate ability to connect with those who needed him most. Sam loved babies, blankets, the outdoors, and being with family. Sam felt compassion at a deep level and made it his life’s work to bring others joy. Sam will be extremely missed by his family. To know Sam, was to love him.
