Zbigniew "Ziggy" Baran, 61, of Plainville, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Zederman, Poland to the late Jozef and Otylia (Kieltyka) Baran. Ziggy always had a smile on his face, loved to tell jokes, and loved music. He was very personable, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He always strived for perfection as a family man, as well as a quality inspector at work. He was always willing to give a helping hand to family, friends, and co-workers. Ziggy loved to travel with his family, often with a camera in hand to save the memories. Zbigniew was proud of his Polish roots and passed on many customs and traditions to his children and grandchildren. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by Eileen (Wlosek), his beloved wife of 39 years; his adored sons, Chris Baran and wife Gisela and Tom Baran and partner Matt; his cherished granddaughters, Victoria and Angelica; his mother-in-law, Alfreda Wlosek; his brother-in-law, John Wlosek, aunts, uncles, cousins in Poland and friends too numerous to mention. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 20 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. Face coverings are required. Social distancing and capacity limitations will be strictly observed. To view the livestream of the Mass, go to: https://my.gather.app/remember/zbigniew-ziggy-baran.
