Yolanda Diaz passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, surrounded by family in her home in Burlington WA. She was born in Eagle Pass, TX on March 26, 1935, to Jose Gutierrez and Refugio (Fernandez) Gutierrez. She moved with her family to Wapato WA where she met her husband Agustine Juarez. They had 4 children together: Debra, David, Agustine Jr and Michael. They eventually moved to Mount Vernon and set down deep roots in the community until Aggie's passing in 1984. She has 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who were all the center of her life and brought her so much joy and happiness. She later married longtime family friend Felix Diaz. They loved family gatherings on the Samish River and Friday Creek, dancing in the kitchen to mariachi music and sitting around the table with their siblings telling old stories. No matter how many times they told their stories there was always a glow on Yolanda's face rekindling these happy memories. She is survived by her; daughter Debra (David); sons David (Grace), Agustine Jr (Michelle) and Michael (Monique); grandchildren Brian (Kim), Brandon, Justin (Sara), Jeremy, Jordan, Christopher (Nikki), Ashley (Trent), Kelsey, Dane, Gary and Manuela; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Callie, Aiden, Izalia, Omar Jr and Lily, and siblings Richard, Hugo, George, Francisco (Paquito), Ruth and Carmen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Refugio Gutierrez; her husband's Agustine Juarez and Felix Diaz; her siblings Robert, Joe, Vera, Bella and Ernestina. Her family would like to extend their eternal thanks to Eden Health Hospice for helping them through this difficult journey. We could not have gotten through this without their kind words, support and guidance. A time of viewing will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 11:00am with a rosary beginning at 11:30am. A funeral mass will follow at Immaculate Conception Church, Mount Vernon, WA at 12:15pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 1:30pm at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA with a reception to follow.
