Wyanette Caldwell Green, 87, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 1208 S. Tyler St. with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Wyanette was born February 16, 1933 in McLean, Texas to Ralph and Johnnie Caldwell. She graduated from Borger High School in 1951, and went on to earn her associate degree in early childhood education at Amarillo College. Wyanette married Stanley Green on April 29, 1951 in Phillips, Texas. She worked as a preschool teacher for many years, first at Bell Avenue Baptist Church and then at First Baptist Church. She also worked for Tuesday Morning for 20 years. Wyanette and Stanley have been active members of First Baptist Church for 48 years. Wyanette taught Sunday school there for 40 of those years. Wyanette was passionate about her love for the Lord. She spent countless hours instilling that same passion in not only her children, but also all of the children who passed through her Sunday school classes at First Baptist Church. In her spare time, Wyanette enjoyed reading, watching her soap operas, and collecting elements of nature. She loved children, and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Wyanette was preceded in death by her parents; and by a brother, Tom Caldwell. Survivors include her husband, Stanley Green; a son, Mark Green and Jana of Amarillo; three daughters, Debbie Hall and husband Steve of Orlando, FL, Cindy Naugher and husband David of Lubbock, and Melissa Adams and husband Mike of Hutto; a brother, Jerry Caldwell and wife Candy of Phoenix/ Mesa, AZ; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Preschool, 1208 S. Tyler St. Amarillo, TX 79101.
