Wallace Pierre Guidry Jr., 92, of Groves passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at his home.
Wallace was born on January 6, 1930 in Broussard, Louisiana to parents Carmen (Bernard) and Wallace Pierre Guidry Sr.. Wallace was a veteran serving his country in the Army. He settled in Southeast Texas; working as a carpenter at Texaco Oil Refinery retiring in 1984 and he was a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church. He enjoyed wood working and working around the house, always had a project going. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cowboys and Astros and he was known for his great coaching skill around Groves. Wallace was a loving man who will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Carmen Guidry Sr., his brothers, James Guidry, Henry Guidry, his sister, Marie Gonsoulin , his son in law, Kevin Viator, his daughter in law, Tena Guidry and the love of his life on May 27, 2021, June Elizabeth Guidry.
Wallace is survived by his sons, Brent Guidry of Port Neches, Kurt Guidry and his wife, Becky of Nederland, his daughters, Detra Viator of San Antonio, Kim Mericle and her husband, Marty of Magnolia, his brother, Raymond Guidry and his wife, Gloria of Nederland. His is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church, with a rosary to be prayed at the church at 1:30 PM before the Mass. Celebrant will be Rev. J. C. Coon. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
