Bolter, Winifred M. “Winnie” (Stanton) of Braintree, died October 10, 2022. She was 87.
Born in Boston, Winnie was the eldest of six to Irish immigrants, Edward and Della (Lyons) Stanton.
Winnie was someone that had great pride in her career. She worked at Verizon as a 411-switchboard operator for over 50 years. Winnie had great appreciation her coworkers and was part of the Board of Directors at the Telephone Workers Credit Union. She was a resident for many years at the Southern Artery Apartments before moving into the John Scott House, Winnie was part of their advocacy committee.
Winnie was truly the definition of a family-oriented woman. She was always giving gifts and was known as the “Santa” of the family. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Winnie was the doting mother to William Bolter and his wife Joyce of Weymouth and the late Stephen Bolter. She was the loving sister to Rita Donahue of Quincy, Marion Stanton of NH, Marjorie Maguire of Waltham, Joanie Herne of Bellingham, the late John Stanton, and the late Patricia Hohn. Winifred was the caring grandmother to Amy Federico (Anthony) of Braintree, Patricia O’Neil (David) of NH, and Stephanie Ingalls of ME and the great-grandmother to William Federico, Katygrace O’Neil, and Alexandra O’Neil. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family of Winnie would like to thank the John Scott House for their continued care and kindness.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday October 14th, 2022 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday October 15th, 2022 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
