Wilma June Dixon Ward, 94 of Newport, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. She graduated from Sevier County High School class of 1945. She had a passion for quilting and sewing. She loved her family especially her kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Arthur Byrd; brother, V.H. Dixon; and son, Jim Lindsey.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Lindsey) Burns; grandchildren, Karen McCallister (Dwayne) of Newport and Jeramie Hurst (Candy) of Powell; and greatgrandchildren, Maci McCallister, Jaxon Hurst, and Cali Hurst; niece, Judy Moore (Jim) of Georgia; great-nieces, Michelle Gunter (Kelly) of Georgia, Tiffine Carey of Georgia, and Toshia Keaton (Swain) of South Carolina; special friends, Jake and Amanda Hurst, Janie Cruze, and GeorgeAnna Morgan; and numerous other extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice for all of their care and support during this time.
The family will receive friends from 12-2PM Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with service to follow at 2PM with Pastor Kelly Gunter and Pastor Shannon Coleman officiating.
