On Sunday, March 21, 2021, Willo Ann Ashley, loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 78. Willo was born on March 18, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Neva (Uhl) Merriam and Robert Merriam. Her dedication to education and her gift of helping others was a common thread throughout her life. She was a school teacher, a talented craftswoman, a master weaver and a wonderful seamstress. She could sew anything! She was very health conscious and enterprising, helping to start the Concord Food Coop which led to establishing her own Sunrider business. She moved to Florida to care for her mother, and to be nearer to her sisters. Willo established The Center for Self Reliance where she taught and hosted workshops. She gave the gift of empowerment to many. She loved to travel, garden, take walks, be near the ocean and participate in house projects. Above all, her love of family and helping others was her true purpose in life. She will be remembered as a selfless, loving, nurturing, patient, and kind soul.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Dick Ashley; her daughter Andrea Milchick and husband Alan Milchick; her daughter Sabrina Dieter; her grandchildren; step-children Lawrinda Griffith, Scott Ashley and Daryl Ashley and their families; her sisters Reine Price and Cheri Gillespie.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 3p-5p at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, NH.
