Willis E. "Bud" Logan, 86, Rome, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 at the Katherine Luther Home, Clinton, NY. Bud was born on January 8, 1935 in Tinsley, Mississippi, son of Willis H. and Minnie Lou Logan. He was a 1954 graduate of Anding High School in Bentonia, MS. He was stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, where he was a member of the 4713th Radar Evaluation Squadron as a mechanic and crew chief. He was honorably discharged on November 1st, 1957, and on November 2nd, 1957 married Bernice Dzwonkas of Westmoreland at the Annunciation Church in Clark Mills.
For over 40 years Bud owned and operated Bud Logan Home Improvements in Rome. He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Rome as well as R. Kirk Parkhurst Post American Legion in Oriskany.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernice, his four children, Michael Logan of New York City, Richard Logan of Beaver Falls, PA, Cindy Logan (Robert Reifsnyder), of Farmington, NY, Tamara Huyck (Robert) of Westmoreland, NY, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister Mary Francis Majors of Jacksonville, FL.
Bud's family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides and staff at the Katherine Luther Home, especially the Willoway/Mapleview units, Stephanie Roberts, Crystal Phillips and Jamie Riegler for their many kindnesses and compassion over the last two years.
Calling hours will be Wednesday May 5th, 2021 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Home, 35 College St., Clinton, NY from 10am -11am. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 11am. He will be buried at St. George's Cemetery.
