Willie L. Rupert, Sr., passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center on September 28, 2018 surrounded by the love and devotion of his family.
He was a faithful and active member of the North Green Street Church of Christ where he was recognized for 50 years of service, leadership and dedication from 1963-2013, he once served faithfully as a song leader, the transportation minister serving 25 plus years, Sunday School teacher, one of the first ordained Elders of the Church.
He was a former employee of R.D. Seating Co., Tupelo Housing Authority and a retired employee of Eljer Plumbing after 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, eating and spending quality time with his sibling and other relatives.
His Life Celebration service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the North Green Street Church of Christ at 12:00 noon, with the Dr. Richard Price, Officiating and Brother Willie Rupert, Jr. will deliver the eulogy.
Interment will follow in the Porter's Memorial Park with Grayson-Porter's Mortuary is honored to be serving . Viewing will be on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the J.W. Porter's Chapel, 4:00 until 7:00. Online condolance can be made to the family at www.grayson-porters.com
He is survided by his devoted wife of sixty years; Vada Sue Rupert: two children: Barbara Sue (Tony) Rupert Rhodes; Willie Louis (Celeste) Rupert, Jr., his siblings: Henry (Louise) Rupert, Sr., Clara Staples and Sister-in-law: Jette Rupert, frandchildren: Susan Rhodes (Maurice) Lowes; William C. Rhodes; Emmanuel (Dr. Veronica) Rupert; Christina Rhodes (Avary) Fleming, Kimberly Symone Rupert, his great-grandchildren: Maurion Low, Calvin Lowe and Kayson Lowe other relatives, fiends.
