William "Bill" Tippit passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021, at age 84. Bill was born in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma. His parents were Carol Lee Tippit and Dorothy Belle Piercy. When Bill was five, his mother relocated her family to Galveston, Texas, where Bill attended school. After high school graduation, he worked his way through the University of Houston, graduating in 1959 with a degree in engineering. He would remain an avid Houston Cougar supporter throughout his life.
Bill is survived by his son Randall Richard Tippit and his wife Anjanette of Cypress, Texas; brother Robert Lon Tippit and his wife Julie of Boerne, Texas; sister Sharon Lynn Hughes and her husband Lloyd of Magnolia, Texas; granddaughter Ashton De Ville, her husband Joe, and their children Warren and Scout of Tomball, Texas; nephew Gatlin Tippit, his wife Paula, and their children Max and Ellee of Spring, Texas; and numerous other family members, as well as friends including: Carl Miller and his wife Dalila; Berne Kluber, his wife Ivonne, and their children Kurt and Kristen; Jamie Moss, his wife Lizette, and their children Kevin and Nicole; Wayne Phillips; and Phillip Tieu.
Bill was preceded in death by his two sons: William Carol Tippit JR and Charles Edward Tippit.
Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, 281-992-7200, with Rev. Rene Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, TX.
