William Thorpe "Bill" Johnson, 82, of Goose Creek, SC, went home to be with our Lord on January 10, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Due to COVID 19, William's life will be celebrated at a later time this year. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
William was born November 12, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John and Edith Johnson. He enlisted in the US Navy on January 16, 1956.
He was married for 62 years to Maria Dellaporta Johnson. Petty Officer Johnson retired from the US Navy in 1975 after 20 years of service. He was the former owner of Elite Party Rentals.
Surviving are his wife, Maria Johnson; three sons: William Paul Johnson (Dee), Gary Michael Johnson (Teresa) and Mark Robert Johnson (Kathy); and daughter, Colleen Maria Turner (Dale). Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. His sister, Marianne Johnson is also a survivor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in William's memory.
