William Harris Rheiner passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his home in Naples, FL with his beloved wife, Monica, by his side.
Will was born on April 5, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA to Hiram and Edna Rheiner. He was the devoted husband of Monica Dwyer, adored father of Heather (Scott) Badami, and cherished grandfather of Alex and Evan Badami. So proud of his family, talking about them often resulted in Will's happy tears.
Will lived his life to its fullest. With a briefcase in one hand and a fishing rod or golf club in the other, Will was the epitome of work hard, play hard. While passionately driven to his accomplished career, Will always sought opportunities to get together for laughs. His clients and colleagues inevitably became life-long personal friends, as to know Will was to love and admire him. He was a man of sharp mind, integrity, generosity and zest for life.
Will was fiercely loyal to his family, friends and alma maters. He was ever-proud of graduating from Central High School in its 217th class (forever his lucky number), Penn State University (Nittany Lions football in particular) and Temple University Law School (hence his owl figurine collection).
Following law school and for the next 38 years, Will was an esteemed corporate partner at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, where he led the investment management practice for more than 20 years and served a term as head of its business and finance department. In 2008, at the request of his largest client, Will moved his practice to Stradley Ronan Stephens & Young and retired two years later.
For many years, Will's second home was Sunnybrook Golf Club, where he joined as a member in 1980 and made many friends. He served there as a director and officer for decades, including a term as its President.
Golf was more than a favorite pastime; it was Will's way to spend time with people he loved. From Kleh Cup trips, to rounds of family bonding, to new friends at Hammock Bay, Will always found room for a game. And golf was one of the things that brought him to Monica in 2012, the beginning of their love story. They were married in October 2019.
In addition to his wife, daughter and grandsons, Will is survived by his loving sister, Dorothy King, niece, Julia (Carlos) Castro, great-nephew, Linus Castro, step-son, Beau (Jillian) Dwyer, step-granddaughters, Karlee and Kellee, and former wife, Susan Worden Rheiner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be directed in Will's honor to one of the following:
Temple University Beasley School of Law: Give to Temple Law School - select Beasley School of Law Annual Scholarships fund
Marco Island Arts Center (where he served on the Board): Give to Marco Island Arts Center
A celebration of Will's life will be held on a future date.
