William A Rebel (Bill) of the Villages, FL, formerly of Glenshaw, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born in Pittsburgh on March 22, 1937 to the late Andy and Mary(Quigley) Rebel of Pittsburgh, PA.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband, he will be remembered and missed by his wife of 63 years JoAnn(Kress)Rebel; his children, David(Jan)Rebel, Diane(Jim)Duff, Robert(Val)Rebel; his grandchildren, Amanda Rebel(Terry Welsh), Aaron Rebel, Shannon(Eric)Mastriano, Dana(Tyler)Gavin, Kirsten Lowe Rebel(Joe Rusnak); great grandchildren Riley and Everly; sisters Arlene(Jim)Appelt, Lynn Rebel; also many loving nieces, nephews and step family. Bill served our country in the Navy, followed by a 40 year career with Duquesne Light Company in Pittsburgh. He was a life long devoted Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Upon retirement Bill and JoAnn felt drawn to the warm and friendly lifestyle of The Villages, FL, residing there for the last 21 years. They both enjoyed an active lifestyle which included golf, bocci, swimming, card games, and so much more. As much as Bill loved his wife and family, friends also played an important role in his life. He was definitely a people person all the way with a 'train' of friends following him and JoAnn from Pittsburgh to Florida. Once in Florida, the list of friends kept growing as his cheerful attitude rubbed off on everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by all.
