Mr. William Roy "Bill" Weiss, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean Douglass Weiss, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, September 15, 2014, beginning at 1:30 at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 o'clock in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Barry Clanton officiating.
Left to cherish his memory with his wife Jean are his children, Krista Janemarie Hambrick and William Joshua Weiss (Katie); grandchildren, Sadie Allyson Threatt (JR), Kayla Nicole Gilbert (Griffin), Cody Allen Hambrick, Jane Adeline Weiss and Clara Elisabeth Weiss; and great-grandchildren, Addyson Elona Mozell Threatt, Jameson Alexander Farrell Threatt, and Porter James Alexander Threatt.
Mr. Weiss was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to the late William Holmes Weiss and Marie Campbell Weiss. He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Air Force. Bill earned his Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of South Florida. Following graduate school, he worked for five years on a pilot program for the Saudi Arabian Environmental Protection Agency in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He worked for NUS Corporation, retiring in 2010 after twenty-eight years of service. After retirement, Bill began keeping bees and sold his honey at the Aiken Farmers Market every Saturday. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, granddaddy and great-granddaddy.
