William W. (Bill) Porter passed away in his home in Americus, Georgia, on October 29, 2021. He was born on November 1, 1941. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Porter, daughter Delia Saldivar and husband Gary, daughter Bea Rudder, and son Andy Rudder and wife Tracy. He had four grandchildren, Calliope Taylor, Xander Taylor, Briggs Rudder, and Kate Rudder.
Bill was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, tennis, singing, and meeting with friends for lunch. He particularly enjoyed attending the Al-Anon group at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
Bill was a licensed marriage and family counselor, certified addiction counselor, and vocational rehabilitation counselor. His life work was dedicated to helping others.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. In place of flowers, donations can be made to Johnson Ferry Baptist Church Pastoral Care.
