William Henderson Polk, 74, of McMillian Drive, Harrisburg, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 29, at Huntersville Health and Rehab. He was born in Cabarrus County on February 5, 1946 to the late Norman Polk and the late Tilley Suray Dudley Polk.
William was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools and was formerly employed with Fredrickson Trucking and retired from Saia Trucking. He was a former member of Ebenezer AME Zion Church and a current member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Public viewing will be held Sunday, January 3, from 1:00 - 5:00PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 4, at 3:00 PM at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Arnold and Otis Tyson.
Those left to cherish his memory includes his wife, Iris Jean Misenheimer Polk of the home; son, William M. Polk (Dr. Sharlini Sankaran) of Durham, NC; two grandchildren Nisha D. Polk and Rubin J. Polk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to Covid-19 Mask must be worn to all services.
