William C. E. Pfischner Jr. MD was born September 10, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA, and passed away May 5, 2022 in great care. He was the son of Emma A. Sprandel and William C. E. Pfischner Sr. His parents are deceased and he was the only child. Several cousins survive him.
He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his BS and MD degrees. He interned at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh and belonged to Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Rho Sigma, a medical fraternity. After his internship he served in the Navy for approximately 10 years, where he was assigned to the Philadelphia Naval Hospital for 2 years, the USS Shenandoah, a destroyer tender in the Mediterranean as a medical officer, and then to the US Naval Medical Research Institute in Cairo, Egypt, from 1954-1956.
A memorial service was held at Myers Park United Methodist Church Chapel in Charlotte at 11 AM, May 11. Private burial followed at Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery in Claremont, N.C.
