William "Cornbread" Newsome III, 73, of Texas City, TX, passed away from this earthly life, on Friday, May 31, 2024, at HCA Mainland Hospital in Texas City, TX, with his brother Earl by his side. William was born April 24, 1951, in Brenham, TX, to the late William and Lucille Newsome Jr. William was brought up in Greater Macedonia Baptist Church and was baptized under the pastorship of the late Rev. S.A. Anderson. He was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School in Texas City, TX. Directly after high school, William gained employment with Todd Shipyard in Galveston, TX. After years of employment with the shipyard, he began working construction with Labor Local 116 in Texas City. William then became employed at Lester Bellow's crackling business, where he was currently employed for over 20 years until his passing.
William is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter "Bobo" Newsome; sister-in- law, Mary Nell Wright Newsome; brother-in-law, Roy Lee Simien; niece, Keyonna Allums Newsome.
He leaves behind, aunt, Tommie Dell Newsome, Brenham, Tx; brothers, Connie Newsome (Eva) of Texas City, TX, Douglas Newsome (Yvonne) of Webster, TX, Edwin Earl Newsome, of Texas City, TX; sister, Brenda Newsome Simien of La Marque, TX, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, other relatives, and extended family Martha Bellow and family.
There will not be a service for William.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Texas City Paramedics, HCA Mainland emergency room, ICU doctors and staff, and Jason Cravens at E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary.
