William (Bill) Mynatt died Monday morning, January 10, 2022, with his daughter by his side. He was born in Knoxville on June 10, 1934. Bill grew up in Maryville and graduated from Maryville High School and attended East Tennessee State University. From 1958 until 1960 Bill served in the U.S. Army, including duty in Wurzburg, Germany, as a Military Policeman. Following an Honorable Discharge, he and his brother, Arthur (Doc) opened Knox Used Truck Exchange. In 1967 Bill Joined Reeder Chevrolet where he made many friends for the next 30 years.
Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary LeAnn Mynatt; parents, Ewin and Martha Mynatt; brothers, Arthur and Ben Mynatt; four brothers-in-law, John Karnes, John Penn, John Patterson, and Robert Hood, and one sister-in-law, Beverly Mynatt. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; daughter, Elizabeth (T. J.) Galloway; three grandsons, Tyler, Timothy and Baker Galloway; sisters, Betty Karnes, Barbara Patterson, Martha Mynatt, Mary Penn, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to the love of his family, Bill loved God and his church of 51years, West Hills Baptist, where he was a deacon and served on many committees.
A Celebration of Bill's Life is scheduled at West Hills Baptist Church, in Knoxville, on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 12:15p.m., with Reverend Drew Prince officiating. The family requests everyone to follow Covid precautions during the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Bill's memory to Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc., 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, (www.alztn.org) or West Hills Baptist Church, 409 Winston Road, Knoxville TN, 37909.
