William Melvin Steinard, age 79, of Warrenton, VA passed peacefully on Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at Haymarket Hospital in Haymarket, VA. He was born in Cornwall, NY on March 30th, 1945, son of the late, Walter & Constance Steinard.
He was a proud graduate of Cornwall Central High School Class of 64, and attended Orange County Community College. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the United States Coast Guard from 1965-1971. He worked at IBM and Unisys as a Systems Analyst Engineer and IT Administrator. Bill loved his four grandaughters to no end, after having two sons, as well his wife who he affectionately referred to as "Hurricane Jane". He loved his home and community of Warrenton. Bill coached numerous sports in the City of Manassas when his sons were young. Bill loved the great outdoors especially fishing, camping and boating. In retirement he loved his Hallmark Movies. His sense of humor will be cherished by all that knew him.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 52 Years, Mary Jane Sharp Steinard; two sons, William Michael Steinard & his wife, Frances of Marshall, VA and Christopher Mark Steinard & his wife, Amanda of Warrenton, VA; and four well-loved granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Walter S. Steinard.
A memorial service will be held at Moser Funeral home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA at 4 pm on Friday, August 16th, 2024 Interment private.
