William T. "Bill" May, Sr. 77, of Piketon, passed 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born April 9, 1944, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late William W. and Virginia Beatty May. On August 30, 1965, he married the former Shirley Ann Walker who passed on October 20, 2005. On June 12, 2010, he married the former Nancy Biggs who passed January 15, 2022.
Surviving are Tammy (Michael) Perry, of Chillicothe, Leroy (Cinda) May, of Hamden, Lester (Amy) May, of Chillicothe, Shirley (Isaac) Powers, of Bainbridge, Robbie May, of Bainbridge, and Keaira Miller, of Chillicothe; step children, Frank (Jess) Porter, of Lucasville, Rose (Steve) Cantrell, of Peebles, Cathy (Chris Cook) Bauer, of Cincinnati, Glen (Tina) Stapleton, of Piketon and Timothy (Casey) Stapleton, of Chillicothe; 24 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 19 step grandchildren; numerous step great grandchildren; a sister, Susan Althouse, of Chillicothe; a brother, David May, of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, William T. May, Jr.; grandsons, Lester May, Jr. and Kyle Porter; a granddaughter, Amber Cox; a great grandson, Kayden Lowrey; sisters, Bessie Mathews and Ruth McComis; and brothers, Jimmy May, John May and Roy May.
Bill was a cab driver for C and J Taxi in Chillicothe. He enjoyed talking on his CB Radio where he was known as "May Boy", fishing and attending auctions.
Funeral services were held 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Stanley Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in Bainbridge Cemetery.
