Willian Alan Knott, aged 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Bill was raised in Muscatine, Iowa but was a Colorado resident for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Farrell Knott. He will always be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Kelly Knott, and his daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Timothy Bowman. Bill is also survived by one of seven siblings, Jerry Knott and his wife Annette Knott, and sisters-in-law Bunny Knott, Natalie Knott, Kathleen Gorze and Lance Gorze, and Jean Farrell and Tom Hildebrand, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Bill worked for almost 40 years as the Director of the Jefferson County Public Library and was instrumental in expanding library services to the community during his tenure. He loved cooking, traveling with his family, books and storytelling. His service will be at 11:30 on Friday, October 1 at Two Penguins Tap and Grill in Centennial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jefferson County Library Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
