William Foster Johnson, known to his family and friends as Johnny, went to be with Jesus on April 23, 2022.
He was born in Taylor, MS on October 5, 1937, to Woodrow and Carlene Johnson.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Margaret Johnson; two children, Diana Lee Johnson (Bryan), and Kenneth Foster Johnson (Janet). He also leaves behind three grandsons and one great granddaughter, all for whom he is very proud: Shelton Lee Johnson, William Foster Johnson II (Brittany), Landen Truett Johnson, and Violet Sage Johnson.
Oldest of six, Johnny also leaves behind two sisters, Leona Jean Hayes (Gus) of Memphis, TN and Clara Stanley Tucker of Demopolis, AL.
After high school, Johnny enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served three years, followed by 17 years in the U.S. Air Force.
After retirement from the military, he worked for Pabst Brewery in Perry, GA, Lockheed-Martin in Marietta, GA, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, with civilian retirement in 2020.
Johnny was an active member of Acworth United Methodist Church and loved the Lord.
A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm at his church.
