William "Bill" Jarvis died peacefully with his family around him at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH on June 12, 2021 at the age of 76.
Bill was born in 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to Edward and Pearl Jarvis. He was a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam war, and went on to become a respiratory therapist for over 40 years. Bill married Dean Jarvis in California 40 years ago - and moved to NH 32 years ago.
After moving to New Hampshire, Bill began working at the original Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and was greatly involved helping design the respiratory access for the present Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a manager and later staff therapist. Bill was passionate about the respiratory care profession and pediatrics. He served on the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)from 1984-1988 and then later as a consultant in 1989 and 1990 and was an active lifetime member of the AARC. Bill also cofounded the annual DH respiratory care adult conference and later pediatric conference - both which occur to this day. During this time, he and Dean had 2 wonderful children. He had a love for flying, photography, swimming, and spending time with his family.
Bill is predeceased by his parents. Surviving members include his wife, children, sister and brother-in-law, nieces and nephew, and cousins.
A celebration of his life is being planned for later this fall.
