William A. Igo

William A. Igo, age 84, of York, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2024 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband of A. Patricia (Rispoli) Igo; together they shared 58 years of marriage.

William was born in Altoona, PA on January 2, 1940 and was the son of the late Ardell and Lilian (Frye) Igo. He was an avid basketball player in his youth and in 1959 was a member of the Altoona High School team that was the runner up for the State Basketball Championship. Later in life, William enjoyed coaching basketball, listening to music, and watching Penn State Football. After Retirement he enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, painting pictures, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife Patricia, William is survived by his children James Igo and wife Heather and Debra Miller and husband Richard; and his grandchildren Brittany, Ben, Mikey, and Aubrey. William was preceded in death by his sisters Joann Shiffler and Ruth Samuels.

A Memorial Service in celebration of William's life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402, with Certified Life Cycle Celebrant Donna Hoffman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30AM - 11:00AM on Friday at the funeral home.
