William Ray 'Bill' Huey, 92, of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Washington, Indiana. He was born on May 24, 1930 at home in Pike County, Indiana to William W. and Mae (Chandler) Huey. Bill married his loving wife, Gloria Ann (Atkinson) Huey on January 1, 1950.
Bill was a member of the Sandborn Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He also had served on the North Knox School Board, Soil & Water Conservation Board and as a Republican Committeeman, attending several National Conventions. Bill traveled throughout the world with the People-to-People Delegation.
Family left to cherish the memory of Bill include: his wife, Gloria Huey; one son, Vaughn (Barbara) Huey of Sandborn; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Huey and Andrea (Scott) Nichole Holscher; great-granddaughter, Primm LeeAnne Huey; sister-in-law, Sue Barton; nieces, Janet (Joe) Huddleston and Ruth Hubner; nephews, Joe (Rita) Huey and Derek Barton.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Mae (Chandler) Huey; son, Monty Ray Huey; sisters, Ruth Maxine Huey and Hollis (Wilson) Corn; brother, Warner (Arrawana) Huey; brother-in-law, Marvin Barton; father and mother-in-law, Lestle and Ruth (Swain) Atkinson.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM EST on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
