William L Hillman, 91, of Anacortes, passed peacefully in the afternoon of February 26, 2022, with the love of his life, Linda by his side. He was born on May 16, 1930, in Juneau, Alaska, the only son of George and Ruby (McKibben) Hillman. The Hillman Family moved to Anacortes where William grew up. He attended grade through High School in Anacortes. Following graduation, he attended the Skagit Valley College before he was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict which began in 1950.
Shortly after his honorable discharge, he completed his academia at the University of Washington, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree. He married Ann Wilson on October 20, 1958. Their marriage was short-lived as Ann developed cancer and preceded William in death on December 24, 1964. No children were born to them. William remained a widower and careered in various Insurance and banking industries before settling for a car dealership where he worked for 32 years.
In 2002, William found love again and the family he never had. He met Linda Carol and they became a couple for 20 years. He cared for her children: Heather, John, Bob and Kelly. He loved and enjoyed the grandchildren who came along later: Madison, Kendel, Cayla and Jaxoon. His favorite pastime was travelling with Linda, all over Europe; their favorite places being Slovenia and Pula, Croatia. William and Linda revisited those sites at least three times. They also had many a cruise on Holland America.
William was a member of the Masons of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on April 10, 2022, at The Skyline Cabana, 5919 Cabana Lane in Anacortes.
