William Henry Hicks, Jr., 89, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away May 29, 2020, at his home. Bill was born in Northfield Township, Michigan, on November 18, 1930, son of the late William Hicks and Helen (Gyde).
Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marines and was stationed in Korea. After a year on the front lines, he was honorably discharged in 1955. He became a truck driver and married Lexine (Anderson); they were married 16 years and had three children. He later married Ethel (Bassil) in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; his children, William Hicks III (Sandy), Pauline Dawson, and James; his two stepchildren, Connie Farhat and Rodney Bassil; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private memorial service. Contributions in his name may be made to North-Eastern Michigan Hospice.
