William Maurice Hannon, 84, departed this life to heaven on March 22, 2021.
He was born to the late James V. Sr. and Stella A. Hannon in New Britain.
Bill, as everyone knew him, was a Wallingford regular on Main Street, walking his best pal Beauregard for many years prior to his valiant battle with cancer. A proud American, Marine, father, UConn Ladies fan, and old car lover, he was loved by all who knew him. Bill would never miss the Fall AACA Hershey Car Show attending for over thirty years with longtime family friend Bobby Pawlow and son Bill Jr. His attendance to UConn Ladies games with his cousin Carolyn were also a real joy of his.
He will be sadly missed by all. Bill is survived by his sons: William (Linda) Hannon, Jr. and Michael (Christina) Hannon. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy and brother James V. Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 29th at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church of Wallingford. Interment with military honors will follow at the CT State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. It is suggested that contributions in his memory be directed to The Sister's Project, PO Box 1643, Wallingford, CT 06492.
