William R. Hann , 81 Mar 1, 1940 - Jul 8, 2021 William R. Hann , 81 Mar 1, 1940 - Jul 8, 2021 William R. "Bill" Hann, 81, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Thursday July 8, 2021, at his summer home in Hagerstown, MD. His loving wife of 25 years, Beverly (Mowen) Hann and mother of Mike Holtzman and son Billy & granddaughter, Tiffany by his bedside. Bill was a resident of Sebring, Florida for the past 20 years where he enjoyed shuffleboard, making fudge & potato candy, making canes & walking sticks, Blue Grass music, Southern Gospel music, cruising, boating, fishing, seafood, family, especially his grandchildren & friends. He loved his Lord and was a member of Broadfording Church of Brethren Fellowship of Cearfoss, MD and was an associate member & Deacon of Sebring Church of Brethren in Florida.
Bill was preceded in death by wife of 34 years, N. Arlene (Clever) Hann, who died in 1995. His parents, William & Mary (Shaw) Hann, and a brother, Chalmer C. Hann.
Bill was a 1958 graduate of McConnellsburg High School. He proudly served his country with the US Air Force from 1958 to 1960. He was always proud of the American flag & what it stood for. He was a welder most of his working life, spending 12 years with Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA and 21 years with Frick Company, Waynesboro, PA. He was a former owner of Buchanan Lanes, Mercersburg.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, Bill is survived by his children, William "Billy" Hann & fiance' Mickey Cline, Greencastle, PA, Douglas (Carrie) Hann and Cathy (Gary) Koser both of Mercersburg, and Michael (Kim) Holtzman, Hagerstown. Eight grandchildren & nine great grandchildren. A brother, Donald E. Hann, McConnellsburg, PA.
Funeral service 2:00 PM Tuesday July 13, 2021 at Broadfording COB Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, with Pastor Roy Fahnestock officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Viewing 6 to 8 PM Monday July 12th in Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, and one prior to the service Tuesday in the church.
