William was born October 23, 1927 in Sampson county, North Carolina to William Ivey Hall, Sr and his wife Bessie. He died May 18, 2003. William is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
William was in the military in 1946 and 1947. He married Nancy Hare Allen in the 1960s. This marriage was blessed with two sons: William Ivey Hall III, and Daniel Yates Hall. He has at least one grandaughter, Melissa Hall, who still live in Virginia.
