William F. (Billy) Gilmer
Departed this life on January 17, 2023. Born on May 13th, 1949 to William and Alice Gilmer in a house on Perry's Corner Road in Grasonville, MD, William Gilmer was raised on farms on the Eastern Shore. He especially loved living at Presquile. He attended Longwood's One Room School House, Cordova Middle School and Easton High School. In the 1970s he lived and worked in Ocean City. In the 1980s he managed Fisherman's Inn. Then, in 1989, having relocated to Bethesda, Maryland, he married Jennifer Suss in Antigua, West Indies. Beginning in the 1990s he and Jennifer opened Jennifer Gilmer Kitchen & Bath, Ltd., a successful Kitchen & Bath remodeling business with three separate locations, the most recent of which is in Easton. In 2019 he retired, moving with his spouse back to the Eastern Shore. A devoted husband and provider, Billy had a ready wit and a heart of gold. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Gilmer (and their three dogs), his daughter, son, grandchildren and siblings Sally Kinnamon, of Stevensville, MD, Moochie Gilmer of Stevensville, MD, Patsy Harris, of Centerville,MD, Penny Quimby of Queenstown, and Benny Gilmer of Aberdeen, MD. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church on 111 S. Harrison St. in Easton on Saturday, January 28th at 11:00 am followed by a celebration of his life. All are welcome to attend and to remember the life of good old Billy. In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to Talbot County Hospice.
