Went home to the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018, age 93. Devoted father of Mark (Mary Moldenhauer) Giesfeldt and Sharon (Craig) Wachowiak. Adoring Grandfather of Matthew (Kari), Joseph (McKenna), Erin, Matt (Cassandra), Brad (Christine), Katy, and Alex. Great- grandfather/Pops to Carson, Orla, Meara and William. Preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend Charlotte, brother John, brother-in-law Karl, and daughter-in-law Peggy. He entered the Army in 1943 serving with the 1st Army in the European Theater, participated in the Normandy Invasion, Northern France, the Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland and Central Europe receiving five battle stars. William received a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from UW-Madison in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Lange, on September 7, 1946 and had a successful career with Centralab, a division of several different companies over the years. The family wishes to thank his excellent team of doctors and staff through ProHealth Care.
Visitation at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK, Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield,Thursday, August 2, 2018, 9:30 to 11:00 am. Funeral Service 11:00 am. Interment following with Military Honors. Memorials appreciated to Stars & Stripes Honor Flight, UW Carbone Cancer Center, or the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
