William Ralph "Bill" Edmanson, Jr., age 76, of North East, MD, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 after a long illness. Born in Elkton, MD, on November 20, 1945, he was the son of the late William R., Sr., and Betty Steele Edmanson.
A graduate of Elkton High School, Bill worked at Trojan Boat Company before serving in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969. He retired in 2011 from Aberdeen Proving Ground after a job he always enjoyed. He helped to build Wesley UMC, and was a member of NEUMC.
Bill adored his family and never missed the opportunity to share their accomplishments with everyone. Most of all, he loved spending time in the outdoors with his grandsons. He was an accomplished wood worker, sharing his skills and tools with many.
Survivors include the love of his life for 57 years, Jane K. Edmanson; daughter, Amy Edmanson Trainer (Edward II), North East, MD; grandsons, Edward III, Ethan, and Riley Trainer; brothers, Garrett S. Edmanson (Jacqueline Diane) and Terry Edmanson (Lisa), both of Elkton, MD; nieces, Laura Carson (Matt) and Lindsey Folsom; and great niece, Lily Folsom.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD. Memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 10, at North East United Methodist Church, 308 S. Main Street, North East, MD 21901. Interment will be private.
