William Eager Sr, 84, resident of Summerfield, FL passed away on August 27, 2021. He was born August 28,1936 in Elgin, Illinois, the only child to the late James and Eleanore (Heinmann) Eager. Bill enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Westover AFB in Chicopee, MA where he met his cherished wife of 37 years, the late Teresa (Smist) Eager. Later Bill received his commission in the Navy where he served as a Reservist for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Commander. He earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Western New England College and a MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Bill loved teaching, and taught part time at Western New England College, Southern Connecticut State College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. These positions cemented the foundation which led to his dream job of teaching at the United States Naval Academy. After Bill retired, he relocated to Florida where he met and married his second wife, Lorraine Demino. In Florida he enjoyed his time as a Disney World employee meeting and conversing with guests while driving a shuttle boat between Disney Landing and the various Disney hotels. Bill was active in every community throughout his life, serving as a Scoutmaster in the local Boy Scouts of America and coaching Little League when he resided in Windsor, CT. While residing in Florida, Bill became a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Bill was an avid amateur sports enthusiast, actively participating in tennis, golf and bowling. Bill and Teresa had 4 children, the late James (Judy) Eager, Rose (Michael) Curley, William (Jacquie) Eager Jr, and Robert (Diane) Eager, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mass to celebrate his life will be held in Chicopee, MA. Date and time yet to be determined
