William Frank Deates, 83, of Lenoir City, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Senator Ben Atchley State Veterans Home. Bill was born on June 1, 1940, in Chicago, IL. He retired from Schiffmayer Plastics after many years of dedicated service. Following retirement, Bill and his beloved wife, Linda, enjoyed their time in Ft. Myers, FL, before settling in Lenoir City to embrace the joys of country living. Bill cherished his time with Linda, his constant companion, as they traveled, spent quality moments with family and friends, and shared 41 incredible years together. An experienced single-engine pilot, Bill and Linda embarked on thrilling aerial adventures. In recent years, Bill devoted his time to his newly acquired trailer, finding joy in camping with his loved ones. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Elwyn Deates, step-father Harry Hocrath, brothers Bob Deates and Dave Deates (fondly known as Brother Bob and Brother Dave), and his loving wife, Linda. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Bob Debartolo, Peggy and Kevin Sanneman, and Michele Deates, as well as his son and daughter- in-law, Frank and Lisa Deates. Additionally, he is survived by step-sons and step-daughters-in- law Shane and Terri Northam, Greg and Rebecca Northam, and Jason and Kathlyn Northam; step-daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Jason Brusa; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great- grandchildren.
