William "Curtis" Cherry passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the age of 60. Curtis went peacefully with his family at his side; after fighting a brave battle from Frontotemporal Degeneration.
Curtis was born in Marietta, GA on December 14, 1959. He attended Walton High School, Marietta. Curtis was a kind and loving person who enjoyed being a father, grandfather, and a lifelong friend to many. Curtis lived the majority of his life within the Cobb and Paulding area. He made the most of his career by working 20 years in the concrete industry for Blue Circle, Lafarge and Argo. He helped to construct numerous projects in the Atlanta area; including the Georgia Aquarium and the new WellStar Paulding Hospital.
Curtis has left many loved ones behind to cherish his memory and mourn his loss; his mother Karen Cherry (Marietta, GA) and her partner James Houze, his children: Jodi Simonelli and her husband AJ (Miami, FL) and William Anson Cherry (Dallas, GA), his brother Ron Cherry and wife Chandra (Roswell, GA); and his 3 loving grandsons: Garrett, Jase and Raylan. Along with several very special uncles, aunts, cousins, and nieces. Curtis was preceded in death by his father Bill Cherry (Marietta, GA), grandparents: Anson and Ruth Rabenaldt and Charles and Claudia Cherry. A special thank you to the caretakers of Tranquil Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care (Acworth, GA). We are grateful for the highest quality of service and care. We appreciate each one of you for all your kindness, patience and making him a home away from home. A Graveside memorial will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park (Marietta, GA), Tuesday, September 22, 2020 @ 11:00 am. Lakeside Funeral Home (Woodstock, GA) in charge of arrangements.
