William David Carpenter, 90, formerly of Vero Beach died on November 22, 2020.
Dave was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 4, 1930 to William Dean and Emma Carpenter. He
graduated from Germantown Academy in 1948 and Penn State University in 1952. He served in the
Army in Dothan, Alabama where he met and married Suzanne Wilder in 1955.
Dave worked as a civil engineer for the US Dept of Agriculture/Soil Conservation Service until he retired
in 1985. His job took him to Pennsylvania, Michigan and Maryland. He and Suzanne had over 30 years
retirement in Vero Beach. He loved to play tennis, fish and attend the Vero Beach Dodgers' games. He
worked for several years at H&R Block in Vero. Dave was an active member at Community Church in
Vero Beach.
Suzanne went to heaven in July 2019. David is survived by his children: Linda (Robert) Sausser; George
(Donna) Carpenter; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being planned for early 2021.
