William Cari, 72, of Southington passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Jeanne (Dupuis) Cari for 50 years.
He was born October 17, 1949 in Meriden and was the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Wright) Cari.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert Cari and loving son, Brian Cari.
Bill was employed by the Triumph Group of West Hartford for over 30 years until his "retirement". Post "retirement" he continued to work in a consulting aspect for another 8 years. He was a valued and loyal employee of the team, touching many lives around him.
In addition to his wife Jeanne he leaves his two children, Michael Cari of Southington and Nicole Cari of Middletown and two sisters, Kathleen Gillis of Southington and Linda Kronenberger of Meriden. He also leaves numerous beloved brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and most recently a great great niece.
Bill loved traveling to Cape Cod, exploring the Outer Cape's beaches. He was dedicated to his garden and birdwatching. In his actual retirement years he could be found traveling the country with his wife Jeanne and visiting National Parks. He loved watching Nascar, football, and baseball. He was soon becoming known as an uncle who would spread his knowledge of making the perfect gin and tonic with limoncello. He was dedicated to participating in numerous events with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, an organization that he took great pride in raising funds for in honor of his late son, Brian.
A celebration of Bill's life was held on Wednesday, June 1st at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Donations may be made to the Pancreatic Action Network, an organization close to heart. For online condolences please visit, www.dellavecchiasouthington.com
