With heavy hearts, the Bowles family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father. William E. (Bennie) Bowles, 78, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bennie was born August 9, 1942 in Milan, TN. He married Delores Kay Watson, his "love at first sight" and love of his life, in 1964, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He has 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild who all lovingly called him Daddy B. His greatest joy was providing love, fun, and laughter to all his family and friends. Bennie fought his long battle with cancer with amazing faith, strength, and courage and never lost his sense of humor. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the 518th Military Police Battalion in Fort Hood, Texas. He was devoted to and proudly served his community as a trooper and detective with the Kentucky State Police for 23 years. Throughout his career, he impacted the lives of many with his humility, fairness, compassion and respect. He loved KSP and all his brothers in gray. Bennie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores Kay Bowles; four children, Kim (Brent) Moody of Lake Forest, IL, Brad (Penny) Bowles of Bowling Green, KY, Shea (Glenn) Koger of Bardstown, KY, and Shanda Yates of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren Harrison Bowles, Laura Bowles, Bryson Yates, Haylee Koger, Will Koger, Ben Moody, and Hope Moody; great grandchild, Lola Sue Bowles; and several nieces and nephews.
