William Wortman Rutter, Jr., passed away on June 3, 2020. He was born in Warrenton, VA on June 24, 1936 to William W. Rutter, Sr., and Mildred Frances Clemens Rutter. They moved to Leesburg, Virginia in 1945 when his father entered WWII. Billy graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1956, which was the first graduating class. Billy married Patricia Everhart on August 30, 1959. He worked for Vepco prior to being drafted in the Army in November 1959. He served 2 years and 3 months at Ft. Gordon and Ft. Benning as a Military Police. Billy operated Rutters Auto Service from Spring 1962 thru 1971 at the corner of South King Street and Fairfax Street selling Sinclair Gas, Goodyear tires and auto service work. Later moving his business into the alley behind Loudoun Laundry building on S. King Street before retiring in 1982-1983. Mr. Rutter is survived by his wife Pat of Paeonian Springs, VA., and daughters Wendy Simpson of Ashburn, VA. and Melissa (Bryan) Moser of Ashburn, VA. Five grandchildren, Patrick (Iris) son, Edward Simpson of Ashburn, VA., Kerrie S. (Alex) Stanley of Woodbridge, VA., Allison M. (Caleb) Scott of Madison, WI., Andrew (Allison) Simpson of Ashburn, VA., and Kelley M. (Michael) Hamblin of Salisbury, MD. Billy is predeceased by his parents and brother Leroy and wife Eileen Gregg of North Port, AL. Contributions can be made to Loudoun Hunger, Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter and American Cancer Society.
