William Bill "W.T." Evans, 78, of Centre, Alabama formerly of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Floyd Medical Center.
Bill was born July 6, 1942 in Dalton, Georgia to the late John and Ruby McMichen Evans. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Bill was a local business man for 18 years, operating Evans Gulf on West Avenue. He was a member of Crosswalk Nazarene Church and retired from Goodyear. Bill enjoyed traveling and especially loved hauling classic cars on his Rollback.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Crosswalk Nazarene Church with Pastor Charlie Gilliland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Georgia National Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Evans and parents. Survivors include his sons, Bill (Teresa) Evans and Daniel Evans; grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Cannon and Chad (Francine) Evans; great-grandchildren, Taylor Cannon, Callie Cannon, Easton Cannon, Gracie Evans, Brantley Cannon and Savannah Evans; several cousins and many beloved friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Stroke Association or a charity of choice.
