William "Bill" Arte Towne, III, son of Patsy Ruth Towne, passed away July 17, 2022, at 169 Willie Town Ct, Georgetown, SC.
William was born in Charleston, South Carolina on April 11, 1962, the son of the late William A. Towne Jr and Patsy Ruth Towne.
William grew up in Charleston, SC and graduated from Middleton High School. He attended and graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta and the University of South Carolina. William lived and worked across the United States for various Interior Design Companies before owning and operating William Towne Designs. One of William's first design projects was a home built for his parents outside Georgetown which his mother still calls home. William built and nourished friendships around the world. His clients and contractors became lifelong friends. In 2012, William found his heaven on earth in the mountains of Asheville. He lived in Leicester, NC raising chickens and sheep between design projects for clients, family and friends. William loved gardening and was born with a vision for beauty. William was happiest when he was working on his mountain home, helping others and spending time with his dog and best friend, Charlie. William was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.
Surviving are: best friend, Charlie, his mother, Patsy Towne, his sister, Rhonda Bearfield (Bob), his brother, Rick Towne (Wendy) and his sister, Valerie Morris (Henry), his four nephews, Marlin Morris, Wade Bearfield, Coby Morris, Richard Towne and his 2 nieces, Carrie Bearfield and Georgia Towne.
The family will receive family and friends to celebrate William's life Saturday afternoon, July 23, 2022 at Patsy Towne's home at 169 Willie Town Ct, Georgetown, SC 29440 from 1pm to 4pm.
The Georgetown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and flowers are being handled by Alford's Florist in Andrews, SC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of William can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
