William (Bill) Carl Nygren, 75, of Geneva, Florida passed away on May 21, 2022. Bill lived courageously with Parkinson's Disease for 15 years. He is survived by his long-time companion Lynn Byers, son and daughter-in-law Laird and Colleen Nygren, grandsons Devin Nygren and Carl Nygren, brothers John Nygren and George Nygren, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill Nygren graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in mechanical engineering. He moved to Pennsylvania to start his career with Westinghouse, where he dedicated his entire career, and retired as CEO for the Westinghouse Joint Ventures to China. Bill retired in Geneva Florida and was very involved in that community where he donated much time to the Museum of Geneva History. Bill was dedicated to preserving history and collected quality antique items in that vein. Significant collections included muskets, pocket watches, steam engines, gas engines and farm-related equipment. Bill was particularly passionate about transportation-related items with an antique car collection and extensive horse-drawn buggy collection. The buggy collection included examples from the early 1700s to early 1900s. He donated this collection of 35 buggies to the Seminole County Historical Society in 2019, where they continue to raise funds to renovate a building to display the collection.
