William "Bill" Terrell Cochran Jr., 75, of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025 after a lifetime devoted to his family and community. Mr. Cochran was born on October 24, 1950, to William "Bill" Sr. and Jacqueline in Conroe, Texas.
A 1969 graduate of Conroe High School where he served as class president. He was a member of the schools FFA and NHS?and the school's first Tiger Mascot?Bill earned his Bachelor's of Business Administration in General Business from Sam Houston State University in 1973.
Bill began working at his family's downtown store, Cochran's, at age 12 and later opened his Allstate Insurance Agency in the same building in the heart of downtown Conroe. Known for his warmth and charisma, Bill made every visitor feel like a friend and you'd find yourself staying at his desk longer than you expected. Bill also had an extensive career in real estate for over forty years.
He dedicated much of his life to public service and community involvement with great pride, serving on the Conroe City Council, participating in the Conroe Jaycees, Sunday School leadership, Conroe Rotary, The Samuel McKay Everett Foundation, Montgomery County Fair Association, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the United Merchants of Conroe. He helped create the Conroe Little League and coached for many years, and he served nearly 20 years as President of the Conroe High School Alumni Association, fostering connections across generations.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Terrell Cochran Sr. and Jacqueline Cochran.
Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kimberly Layne Cochran; daughter Robin Cochran Rickwalt, daughter of Susie Kammen; sons William "Buddy" Cochran (Sandy), and Jackson Cochran (Heather); five grandchildren with his first grandson expected in March of 2026.
Bill will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on the city he loved so dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service in The Chapel beginning at NOON.
