William Blair Anderton, age 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 23, 2022. Blair was born in Garland, TX on November 9, 1945, to Ernest "Speedy" and Ruth Anderton. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother James "Jim" D. Anderton. He is survived by his wife Joan Ellen Dreibrodt Anderton, daughter Ashley Reid, son-in-law Lance Reid, granddaughters Brooklynn Ruth and Elizabeth Blair, sister-in-law Judy Anderton, nephews Brian Anderton, Jeff Anderton, and Matt Anderton.
Blair grew up in Dallas attending Dealy Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Jr High and Hillcrest High School. He proudly graduated from Texas A&M in 1969 and married Joan the following year and soon after moved to Marietta, Ga. Blair spent many years working in the Insulation industry, buying Laughlin Insulation in 1976 and then began General Insulation. He served as President of the Board of Directors of Insulation Contractors Association of America and was extremely active in the community during his time as President of the North Cobb Rotary. In 1991, he became a partner at Evans Plastering and his Stucco adventures took off from there.
As the negative perception of Stucco clouded the residential industry in the Atlanta area in the early 90s, he decided utilizing his knowledge of the product to help others could be crucial to calming the panic. In 1996 he founded Stucco Inspections, Inc and eventually added his daughter and son-in-law to the company. Stucco Inspections, Inc is one of the pioneers in EIFS/Stucco Inspections in Metro Atlanta.
Blair had a heart the size of Texas and was a sounding board and a source of comfort for so many. His genuine kindness and character were immeasurable. Blair's memory will be kept alive through every boat ride, beach trip, Bulldog/Aggie game, and of course a good steak with a cocktail. Cheers Big Guy!
