Willard "Steve" Wayne Stevens, 77, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at his home.
Steve was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 10, 1944 to the late Willard C. and Dortha (Hadley) Stevens. He honorably served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Steve retired from Hard Chrome Industries after 26 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed watching television, especially Gun Smoke and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Steve had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Steve will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Steve is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anita (Wilson) Stevens of Evansville, IN; sons, Mike Stevens (Jessica), Daniel Stevens (Kathleen), and Donnie Stevens (Kate) all of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Anthony (Clarissa), Nolan, Ethan, Cole, Claire, and Ivan Stevens, Hannah Shaw, and Zane Yates; and great-granddaughter, Mavis Stevens.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dordeania "Lee" Turner; and brother, Ronnie Stevens.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating.
Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.
