RHOADS, WESLEY HAROLD Of Durand, age 90, died Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Brian Stogner officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022. Donations may be made to Rochester University, 800 W Avon Rd., Rochester Hills, MI, 48307 or Harding University Communications which allowed him many hours of enjoyment watching his grandsons athletic and academic activity. Harding University Communications, box 12238, Searcy, AR 72149. Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Wesley was born in Bethany Township, Michigan on September 30, 1931, the son of the late Cleo and Edith (Hendricks) Rhoads. He married Shirley King on June 2, 1951. Wesley served the US Marine Corp then worked at James Lumber and Case Construction where he was later a co-owner. In retirement he enjoyed playing senior softball and doing handyman projects. He loved following his grandchildren's pursuits. He was active in church and loved sports and spending time with family. He was a member of Church of Christ on Bristol Road. Surviving are children, Laurie (Curtis) Coleman of Flint, Lisa (Brian) Stogner of Davison, Leslie Francis (Brad) Searcy of Arkansas and Phillip (Melissa) Rhoads of Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, Will (Falan), Alex, Matt Francis, Katie Stogner, Wesley and Bennett Rhoads.
