Wesley Douglas Cromley (85) was called to his Heavenly home September 18, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Born February 18, 1936 in Detroit Michigan, he moved with his family in 1947 to Akron, Ohio. He married Mary Lee (Burrows), his high school sweetheart, on January 9, 1955. They enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage and raised four daughters. He loved his wife and daughters fiercely. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after over 40 years of service. As a young man, Wesley gave his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He lived every day to serve others. He was a longtime member of the Akron Baptist Temple and loved serving his church with his wife, Mary Lee. He served as a Deacon and truly enjoyed teaching Sunday School for 55 years, leading kids in worship at church and Good News Club at Rimer School, volunteering at Ohio Baptist Acres church camp, taking neighborhood kids to Sunday School, teaching Vacation Bible School, and their Prayer Quilt Ministry.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Letha Ferguson. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Mary Lee, of the home; daughters, Pam Buck (Scott), Kent, OH; Joan Reneau (Russ), Amarillo, TX; Vicki Cromley, Lakewood, OH; and Jill Fortson (Greg), Abilene, TX. He also leaves brother, Donald Cromley of Akron, OH; sister, Joan Zadai (Marty) of Tallmadge, OH; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, as well as a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, OH, 44260. Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dallas Billington and Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville, OH.
